WELCOME TO CIRCLARITY
Safe spaces. Open Journeys.

MY STORY
Circlarity is more than just an art center. It's a space where personal development meets creativity, and where guided drawing exercises become a journey of self-discovery. We believe in the power of art to heal, inspire, and transform. Our mission is to provide a supportive environment for individuals to explore their inner world through art, and to foster a community that embraces the therapeutic benefits of creative expression.
Kia ora!
I'm Therry Weerts, the founder of Circlarity, a space dedicated to illuminating the transformative power of art and drawing therapy.
My path to becoming an art therapist in The Netherlands was shaped by the enduring encouragement of my parents: my mother, Toto, who instilled in me strong organisational skills and determination, and my father, Fred, who fostered my practical creativity from a young age. This nurturing environment allowed me to follow my heart into social-creative education.
I graduated from Art School in 1988, embarking on a decade of dedicated work supporting individuals experiencing homelessness and assisting illegal female refugees and children. It was during this time that I found my true calling and deepened my expertise by joining the Institute of Sound and Form under my esteemed master teacher, Lisa Borstlap. Here, I followed the classic route to become a Dutch Art Therapist, specializing in the profound "Language of Drawing." This discipline truly resonated with my mission to support people's development under the 'Wings of Drawing.'
For 14 years, I had the privilege of working in a primary school, where I helped, supported, and coached children's social and emotional development. This was a truly fabulous time, rich with team collaboration and meaningful impact. In 2014, a new chapter began when I married my partner, a fantastic Kiwi psychologist and settled in the serene landscape of Matatoki, Coromandel.
Since 2015, I've had the pleasure and commitment of delivering drawing classes across New Zealand. These sessions offer personal support and foster positive development, serving as a humble yet powerful contribution to individuals navigating life's challenges. My work is fundamentally dedicated to assisting people in cultivating their own happiness – for the good of all.
At Circlarity, my approach is rooted in the understanding that our creative cycles, much like life itself, are not always a straight path. I use art and drawing as a unique language to navigate these cycles, helping clients to identify and understand their unique patterns – from moments of inspired flow to the challenges of creative blocks. Through the act of creation, seemingly abstract emotions and experiences become tangible, offering profound clarity and actionable insights. As seen in the transformative experiences of clients who have explored their internal landscapes through art, the insights gained in these sessions translate into real-world breakthroughs, fostering greater resilience and a deeper connection to one's authentic self.
No drawing experience is needed to join us at the Drawing Table; just an open heart and a willingness to explore. It would be my honor to guide you on your journey of self-discovery and growth.
Nga Mihi,
Friendly Greetings,
Therry
